Albert Harry Barthelmeh

DOVER - Albert Harry Barthelmeh, Jr. passed away Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013, at the Westminster Village, Dover. He was born Jan. 18, 1949, in Montgomery County, Pa. He moved to the Clayton area in 1950. He attended school in Kenton and Smyrna. He served in the U.S. Army and Army Reserve. He retired from the DE State Highway Department after 28 years of service. He was a member of the Camden-Wyoming Moose Club and the VFW. He enjoyed NASCAR Racing and Micro-Sprint Racing. He enjoyed his sky blue pick-up truck. His favorite summer trips were on the Lewes to Cape May Ferry. He is survived by his father, Albert Harry Barthelmeh, Sr.; his step-mother, Claudia Barthelmeh; his special friend, Betty Stallard and her children, Scotty Rhoades and Beverly Porter; his brother, Tommy Barthelmeh and his wife, June, their son, Kelvin Barthelmeh and his wife, Heather; his brother, Jimmy Barthelmeh and his wife, Laura; Claudia Barthelmeh's children, Walston (Buck) Jones, Audrey Jones and Lucilla Esham. He was preceded in death by his loving mother, Doris (Dottie) Barthelmeh; his maternal and paternal grandparents. A visitation will be Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013, between the hours of 6 to 8 p.m. at the Faries Funeral Home, 29 S. Main Street, Smyrna, DE. The funeral service will be Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013, at the Faries Funeral Home, visitation will be at 11 a.m. and the service will begin at noon. Burial will follow at the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Smyrna, DE. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made in Albert H. Barthelmeh, Jrs' memory to the Kenton United Methodist Church, PO Box 118, Kenton, DE 19955. Condolence letters may be sent by visiting www.fariesfuneralhome.com.
