Albert B. Shank

Albert B. Shank, 87 DOVER - Albert B. Shank, 87, of Dover, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2009, in the Delaware Veteran's Home, Milford. He was born on Aug. 17, 1922, in Keyser, W.Va., son of the late Albert and Anna Wright Shank. Albert served his country proudly in the U.S. Air Force for 23 ½ years. He later worked for Reichold Chemical. He was a charter member of the Air Force Mobility Command Museum, a charter member of the Camden-Wyoming Moose Lodge, a member of the Elks, VFW and the NRA. Albert enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Lillian Shank; four children, Jeri Sacewicz and her husband Saul Wendroff of Hillsboro, N.J., Carolyn Schell and her husband David of Colorado Springs, Colo., Albert G. Shank and his wife Terry of Felton, and Steven Shank and his wife Susan of Felton; two sisters, Pauline Fitchett of Ft. Valley, Va., and Georgeanna Duckworth of Severna, Md.; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be noon Tuesday, Dec. 29, at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, where friends may gather one hour earlier. Burial with full military honors will follow at the Delaware Veterans Cemetery, Millsboro. In lieu of flowers, the requests contributions to the Alzheimer's Association, Julie H.C. Bailey Training Center, 100 S. Main St., Suite 211, Smyrna, DE 19977.
