REHOBOTH - Alan Padgett passed away on Thursday, October 9, 2014. Mr. Padgett was born December 18, 1945 son of the late Lamar P. and Elizabeth A. (Thacker) Padgett. Alan was a graduate from Kenwood High School and a member of Groome U.M. Church in Lewes. He enjoyed travelling with his mother and was a friend of Bill and Dr. Bob. Mr. Padgett had a kind soul and would go out of his way to help people. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Lamar "Pat" Padgett Jr.; and a sister, Ann Snowden. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Geraldine Padgett; four nieces and three nephews. A memorial service will be held Thursday, October 16, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Groome U.M. Church, 601 Savannah Rd., Lewes, DE 19958. Food and fellowship will immediately follow. In lieu of flowers donations in Alan's memory can be made to: Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963 or Groome UM Church, PO Box 299, Lewes, DE 19958. Arrangements handled by Short Funeral Services, Milton, DE.
