CLAYTON — A family of four was displaced in an accidental house trailer fire Wednesday, Assistant State Fire Marshal Michael Chionchio said.
There were no reported injuries in the blaze in the 1900 block of Blackiston Church Road, near Millington Road. The fire was reported shortly before 8:30 a.m., and the Clayton Fire Co. arrived on the scene with smoke coming from the home.
State fire investigators determined that the fire started due to a failure of electrical wiring, Mr. Chionchio said. A smoke alarm detected the fire and alerted the occupants.
Damage was estimated at $50,000. The American Red Cross is assisting the displaced family, consisting of three adults and one child.
