WILLARDS - Wilma "Billie" Patey died Friday, Dec. 4, 2020, at the Stansell House Coastal Hospice in Ocean Pines, after a battle with lung cancer. Born and raised in Boston, Mass., and Parker Head, Maine, she moved to the Eastern Shore at the age of 27.
She worked as a seamstress at Powellville Pant Factory, as well as Buzz's Clothing in Berlin. She sewed on the patches for the deputies at the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office. She later worked in the activities department at the Berlin Nursing Home. She was a member of Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church in Willards.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, William Patey; a daughter, Mary Lynn Handley; a grandson; and a great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Rhonda Lee; and a special nephew, Matthew Lee Patey.
No services will be held. Arrangements are in the care of Bishop-Hastings Funeral Home in Selbyville.
