William Cooper Hunt EASTON - William Cooper Hunt died at Talbot Hospice House on June 27. He was 80 years old. Born and raised in Neavitt, Md., on June 11, 1930, he was the son of William R. and Margaret Haddaway Hunt. He attended St. Michaels High School and then served for two years in the United States Army, including 18 months stationed in Germany. He worked as the Head Bartender at the Tidewater Inn for 13 years. He then began a career at Home Beneficial Life Insurance Company. Mr. Hunt enjoyed fishing, crabbing, and completing do-it-yourself projects. He is survived by his wife, Betty Jean Haddaway Hunt, whom he married on October 20, 1950; his sons, William T. "Tim" Hunt, and his wife, Kelly Lynn, and Randall A. Hunt, and his wife, Jean; his brother, Sam Hunt; his sister, Patricia Lyons; and his granddaughters, Taylor and Christin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Augusta Diamond. A funeral service was held at the First Baptist Church of Easton on Thursday, July 1 at 11 a.m. Friends called at the Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 30 from 6 until 8 p.m. Burial was held at Oxford Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Talbot Hospice Foundation, 586 Cynwood Dr., Easton, MD 21601.
