VIENNA - Walter Howard Hutson, Jr., or Vienna, passed away Nov. 30, 2010, at Mallard Bay Center in Cambridge. He was 65. 'Tex' as he was known in Vienna, was born in Henderson, Md. on April 29, 1945. He was adopted by Florence Wise Hutson and Walter H. Hutson, Sr. In his younger years, he helped his father on a local farm doing odd jobs as well as helping others in the community. In the 1980's, Tex became Vienna's paper man and was dedicated to each one of his customers that he served for twenty three years. He also worked for the various owners of the convenience store in Vienna, stocking shelves, janitorial duties, and anything that was asked of him. He was married to Zenia Short Hutson who preceded him in death in 2002. Tex was a twenty five year faithful member of the Chicone Ruritan Club in Vienna. He loved helping with the steak dinner ticket sales and selling chances. He was very proud to assist in collecting boxes for the Vienna Luminaries. Tex had many friends throughout the community and was a true supporter of law enforcement in the area. His interests included word-finds, country music, western movies, Ruritan events, and his participation on his famous red bicycle in the Vienna Town Parade. During the past year he had attended Pleasant Day and Hurlock Center and thoroughly enjoyed the activities while there. A special recognition is extended to the members of the Vienna Volunteer Fire Company, Dorchester County EMS, and the doctors and nurses that cared for him. A memorial service to celebrate Tex's life will be held at a later date. Donations may be made to help with his final expenses to the Zeller Funeral Home, P.O. Box 207, East New Market, MD 21631 or to Hebron Savings Bank, P. O. Box 158, Vienna, MD, 21869.
