PRINCESS ANNE — If you plan to solicit non-voters to register so they can take part in this year’s state and county elections then attend a League of Women Voters Registration Certification class 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24 at the Princess Anne Library, located at 11767 Beechwood Street.

In Maryland, voter registration distributors provide voter registration applications and can assist people with completing the form and even return it to the local county election office.

According to the Maryland State Board of Elections, voter registration distributors must be 18 or older, knowledgeable about the basics of being able to vote, and trained in completing the application so it is accurate.

And, “At the conclusion of the training, you must sign an affidavit that you will act according to the training and regulations and will receive a certificate identifying you as a voter registration volunteer.”

Those who register to vote can return an application to the local election office in person, however, someone who is certified is authorized to return it promptly if given permission to do so.

Qualified citizens who want to vote in the 2026 Maryland primary election in June have until June 2 to register.
