ANNAPOLIS -- Virginia Lee "Ginny" Hanna Brassel of Annapolis, formerly of Salisbury, died surrounded by her family on May 14, 2015. Born to Mabel Marguerite Brown Hanna and Henry H. Hanna, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1971 from Stratford College in Danville, Va. She owned and operated "Hawbuck Harness", a dress shop in downtown Annapolis and was co-owner of "the Perfect Nanny" also in Annapolis. She is survived by her husband, Jon William Brassel; her two sons, Jon William Brassel Jr. of Jacksonville, Fla., and Ryan Hanna Brassel of Annapolis; a granddaughter; her siblings, Henry H. Hanna III and Frank B. Hanna Sr. of Salisbury, and Nancy Clair Godwin of Spruce Pine, N.C.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Monday, May 18, at St Peter's Episcopal Church in Salisbury. Burial was private. A memorial reception will be held June 2 at Annapolis Yacht Club. Arrangements are in the care of Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury.
