Viola Pope, 68 CAMBRIDGE - Viola Pope, 68 of Cambridge, departed this life on Sunday, March 28, 2010, at Dorchester General Hospital in Cambridge. She was born Feb. 9, 1942, in Norristown, Pa., daughter of Rosalie Jolley and the late Elvin Pelson. Teenie or Tina, as she was affectionately called, was educated in the public schools of Dorchester County and Philadelphia, Pa. Her career spanned for years within the insurance industry. She recently retired from ISG International as an Account Technician after 10 years of service. Tina was an active member of Fellowship Chapter #58, Order of the Eastern Star and Abulahab Court #189, Daughters of Isis. Her hobbies were reading, knitting and traveling. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by two siblings, Barbara Elliott and Elvin "Butch" Pelson. She leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Alexander and Aaron Payne (both of Houston, Texas); five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; mother, Rosalie Jolley; siblings, Elaine Harvey and Rose Marie Travis; longtime and faithful companion, Melvin Robinson; brothers-in-law, Lafayette Harvey and Embry Elliott Sr.; a special niece, Debbie Johnson; special friends, Peggy Slayden, Jesse and Helen Turner, Allen Tyler and his family and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Memorial Services were Saturday, April 3, 2010, at Waugh Chapel United Methodist Church with Masonic Services one hour prior. Condolences sent to
