CAMBRIDGE - Veronica Lyne Cox, age 59, of Cambridge, died Thursday, Sept. 2, 2010, at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore. She will be missed. She generously donated her vital organs for the gift of life to give life to others through the Living Legacy Program. Born Dec. 11, 1950, in Unicoi, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late Elisha Campbell and Bianca McKinney Campbell. Veronica was raised a Southern Baptist. She loved nature and art. She was an avid reader and bird watcher keeping a special eye on hummingbirds and finches. Veronica had been a taxidermist in her earlier years. She liked flower and vegetable gardening and greatly enjoyed being an artist specializing in oils and watercolors. Veronica was a volunteer at the VFW Post 5246 in Federalsburg. She also was a member of the Arbor Day Foundation. Preceding her in death besides her parents was a sister; and a brother. Surviving are two children of her previous marriage to Tommy Cox, Deborah Ann Jackson and her husband Philip, Jr., and Jeremy Lee Cox and his wife Amy; three grandchildren, Amanda Lyne Jackson, Brandon Lee Cox, and Caitlyn Marie Cox, all of Cambridge; a sister, three brothers, and several nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be 2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 10, 2010, at Curran-Bromwell Funeral Home, P.A., where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Officiating at the service will be The Rev. Randall Blackmon. Inurnment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Philip Jackson, Jr., Michael Ruf, Michael Free and Brandon Cox.
