Training to administer lifesaving Narcan set first Monday of each month in Westover

WESTOVER — The Somerset County Health Department is once again offering free training in the use of Narcan on the first Monday of each month at the Behavioral Health Center at 8928 Sign Post Road in Westover.

Quick five to ten minute training sessions will be held between 5:30 and 6 p.m. At the completion of the training those participants 18 and older will earn a certificate to receive free Narcan medication from participating local pharmacies.

Narcan (Naloxone) is a product that can help restore breathing and save lives of those suffering Opiate overdoses. It is simple to use and has no side effects. This training will show participants how to properly use the product in a simple and safe manner.

Upcoming dates are Monday, April 3, Monday, May 1, and Monday, May 5 all at 5:30 p.m. Registration is encouraged for these events but not required. For more information or to sign up call 443-523-1790.
