HURLOCK - Thomas Arthur Latta Sr., 84, of Hunting Creek, passed away Saturday, Nov. 18, 2006, at his residence.

He was born Sept. 22, 1922, in Worthington, Minn., son of the late Dale Humphrey Latta and Martha Salstrom Latta.

Mr. Latta served in the Army Air Force as a pilot during World War II; at his discharge in 1946 he held the rank of captain.

He was a pilot for Eastern Airlines for 38 years, working out of Washington, D.C. and New York. He retired in 1982.

In 1979, Mr. Latta moved from Severna Park to Dorchester County. He enjoyed power boating, gardening and NASCAR.

He was a member of the Airline Pilots Association.

Mr. Latta is survived by his wife, Barbara Brown Latta of Hurlock; four sons, Thomas Arthur Latta Jr. of Pasadena, Bruce Erl Latta of Arnold, Dale Cheshire Latta of Brockport, N.Y., and Brian Cutler Latta of Santa Cruz, Calif.; and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Elizabeth Joyce Latta.

Friends may call from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday at the Zeller Funeral Home in East New Market where a memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Pastor Daniel T. Latta will officiate.
