Theodore Palmer

SALISBURY - Theodore Roosevelt Palmer died Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2016, at his residence. Born in Edenton, N.C., he was the son of the late Roosevelt Palmer and Martha Williams Palmer. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 145 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 10159. He worked at the Campbell Soup Co.; SHORE UP! and the Holly Center. Prior to retiring, he was employed by the University of Maryland Eastern Shore in Princess Anne. He is survived by his wife, Fay B. Palmer; one son, Michael D. Palmer; three daughters, Tysha R. Staten, Mary E. Staten and Ronica E. Palmer; one stepson, Durwood M. Bynum; one brother, Elder James Palmer; one sister, the Rev. Martha Young; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a host of nephews and nieces. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one son, Theodore R. Palmer Jr.; and two brothers, George Palmer and Zion N. Palmer. Arrangements are in the care of Lewis N. Watson Funeral Home in Salisbury. A funeral service was held Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2016, at First Baptist Church in Salisbury. Interment was at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery near Hurlock.
