HURLOCK - Terry Rhodes Saunders, 55, passed away Monday, Aug. 6, 2007, at Dorchester General Hospital in Cambridge.

He was born Feb. 20, 1952 a son of Rebecca Rhodes Saunders of Rhodesdale and the late Warren "Buck" Saunders. His wife of 25 years, Bonnie Saunders passed away May 12, 2007.

Mr. Saunders attended school in Hurlock and graduated from Cambridge High School in 1970.

An expert crane operator for 20 years, he worked on numerous construction jobs such as the Vienna Bridge and the Visitors Center at the Capitol Building in Washington, D.C.

He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish and crab. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren taking them fishing and crabbing and sharing the catch with his friends.

In addition to his mother, Mr. Saunders is survived by a daughter, Dana Lowe and friend, Tim Gore of Cambridge; a son, Richard Saunders and wife, Amanda of Rhodesdale; a stepson, Scott Warrell and wife, Dawn of East New Market; seven grandchildren, Megan Wood, Brooke Lowe, Amarah Willey, Rebecca Lowe, Hunter Saunders, Chloe Warrell and Brock Warrell; a brother, Warren Saunders and wife, Sandy of Hurlock; two nephews, Clark Saunders of Woodland, Del. and Jeff Saunders and wife, Pam of Woodland, Del.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the Zeller Funeral Home in East New Market.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home where friends will also be received during the hour preceding the service. The Rev. Jo Ann Humler will officiate. Burial wlill follow in East New Market Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Saunders, Clark Saunders, Rick Reid, Danny Leve, Jacky Rossy and Fred Alexander. Honorary pallbearers will be Hobie Duff and Jim Duff.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Linkwood-Salem Volunteer Fire Company, P.O. Box 66, Linkwood, MD 21835.
