Teresa Joyce Crockett

MERRITT ISLAND, Fla. - Teresa Joyce Crockett, passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 after a long illness at Courtenay Springs Village in Merritt Island, Fla., with her family by her side. She was born on July 11, 1955 in Panama City, Fla., the daughter of the late Thomas Jefferson Swain, Jr. and Faye Swain of Naples, Fla. Teri was a retired waitress and worked hard her entire life before becoming ill. She was a devoted mother and a very loved grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family, shopping, & playing with her dog. She lived her life to the fullest everyday and her kindness and compassion for others will be truly missed. She is survived by her mother, Faye Swain; two daughters, Angela Garrett and her husband Shane of Port St. John, Fla. and Mary Thomas of Merritt Island, Fla.; her grandson, Caiden Garrett of Port St. John, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph D. Crockett; her son, Nelson Thomas; her sister, Cheryl Asher; and her brother, Thomas Jefferson Swain III. A celebration of her life was held on May 24, 2015 at the Garrett Residence, 5330 Holden Rd, Cocoa, FL 32927 at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to help the family may be sent to the address above.
