SALISBURY-Susie Mae Dashiell, daughter of the late Leroy H. Nichols Sr. and Louise(Fields) Nichols Edmundson, was born in Quantico on April 26, 1927. Surrounded by her family, she died Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2015, at Deer's Head Hospital Center in Salisbury. She received her formal education in the public schools of Wicomico County, and was a 1944 graduate of the former Salisbury High School. Upon graduation, she matriculated at the former Bowie State Teachers' College, now Bowie State University, graduating in 1948 with a Bachelor's degree. Her husband was the late Wilson M. Dashiell. She was a dedicated member of St. Luke United Methodist Church in Hebron, where she served on the United Methodist Women and other organizations within the church. She was employed as a Dietary Supervisor at Deer's Head Hospital Center in Salisbury, retiring with 30 years of service. She is survived by three daughters: Brenda Clark, Wanda and Rita Dashiell, all of Salisbury; eight grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren; one sister: Marian N. Parker and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Four siblings: Martha N. Jones, Carolyn N. Birckhead, Scott J. Nichols and Leroy H. Nichols, preceded her in death. Arrangements are in care of Jolley Memorial Chapel in Salisbury.
