SALISBURY - Susan L. Parks died Sunday, April 8, 2018, at her home, surrounded by her family. Born in Rector, Ark. she was the daughter of the late Herbert Layer and Von Dell Cox Dawson. She was a devoted member of the Women of the Moose Salisbury Chapter No. 1208, where she held a Women of the Moose International Degree as the Past Deputy Grand Regent. She was also a member of the Maryland Classified Employees Association for 38 years and retired from Salisbury University after 38 years of service as a Program Management Specialist. She is survived by her two sons, David Parks of Pittsville and Brian H. Parks of Salisbury; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; her stepmother, Wanda Layer of Arkansas; six siblings, Charlotte Layer Mills, Thomas A. Dawson Jr., Andrea Johnson, Allison Broadbent, Matthew Dawson and Sondra Layer Lowe; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Michael L. Parks. A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 12, 2018, at Holloway Funeral Home, Salisbury. Burial was in Wicomico Memorial Park.
