Steven H. Robbins, 61
CAMBRIDGE - Steven Henry Robbins, died Friday, Jan. 9, 2009, in Dorchester General Hospital. He had been in failing health for a number of years. He was 61. Born on March 16, 1947, he was the son of the late Jacob William Robbins, of Cambridge and Rose Irene Kelley Robbins, formerly of Secretary. A Cambridge High School graduate, Class of 1965, he pursued his education at the University of Maryland majoring in electrical engineering. He opened and managed a television sales and repair store in Cambridge and later was employed by the State of Maryland as a computer "trouble-shooter" specialist for computer networks located throughout the Eastern Shore. He was also a licensed "ham" radio operator, enjoyed many outdoor activities, loved to travel and had a great appreciation for all types of music. Steve was a true animal lover, particularly of dogs and had a special fondness for Dachshunds. He was a kind and caring soul and had a great sense of humor. He will be sorely missed by his many friends in the community. Surviving is a brother, William Douglas Robbins and his wife Lené, of Cambridge; four nieces, Rose Marie Brohawn, of Chestertown, Christine Anne Hett, of Moultrie, Ga., Laurie Lee Woodward, of Cambridge, and Abigail Lyn Norris, of Greenville, Fla.; cousin, Theodore "Butch" Robbins, of Cambridge; maternal aunts, Marguerite Kelley and Gloria Foskey, of Seaford; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. Mr. Robbins' remains were cremated and the inurnment service will be private.
