Starke M. Evans, 66

Denton - Starke M. Evans, of Denton, passed away on Sept. 11, 2008, in Memorial Hospital, Easton. He was 66. Born in Olney, Mr. Evans was the son of the late William Wilder "Moon" Evans and late Margaret Harriss Evans of Rockville. After graduating from Washington College with a degree in economics, Mr. Evans attend the University of Maryland Law School where he earned his law degree. As an attorney, Starke Evans served Caroline County in many ways. Mr. Evans was the county's State Attorney, the Board of Education attorney, the attorney for the town of Federalsburg and also maintained a private practice. As a member of the Caroline Country Club, Mr. Evans was an avid golfer and sports enthusiast. Mr. Evans is survived by his wife of 42 years, Carol H. Evans of Denton, significant other, Bonnie Kirby or Denton; daughter, Dana Evans of Kensington; son, Matt Evans and his wife Tabetha; two grandchildren, Wilder Evans and Shane Evans of Bridgetown; sister, Deborah Pritzlaff and her husband Robert Pritzlaff of Chestertown. There was a celebration of his life for family and friends in the Caroline Country Club from 5 to 7 p.m., on Tuesday, Sept. 16. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Caroline Hospice Foundation, Inc., P.O. Box 362, Denton, MD 21629. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Williamson Funeral Home, Federalsburg.
