EWELL — The Community Visioning Process continues on Smith Island, as the steering committee will hold a public meeting 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 30 at the community building here.
The final meeting will be Wednesday, June 17 with the steering committee holding a public meeting from 1 to 3 p.m. with the final with the final vision presented later that afternoon from 3:30 to 5:30.
Mediation facilitators Consensus Building Institute (CBI) and the Horsley Witten Group are utilizing nearly $90,000 in superstorm Sandy recovery funds to build a community-driven consensus that will look ahead to how Smith Island should look, feel and thrive in the coming decades. The results will be recommended for included in Somerset County’s Comprehensive Plan.
