DELMAR - Sally A. Yates, 60, of Delmar, died Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at her home in Delmar. Born in Salisbury, she was the daughter of Gerald Lee Messick of Delmar and the late Gloria Walker Messick. She graduated from Delmar High School with the class of 1973 and attended Del-Tech in Georgetown. She worked at Sussex Trust bank after leaving college and retired in 2010 after 33 years of service from Delmarva Power as a Senior Community Outreach Specialist. At Delmarva Power, she was a member of the Vingt Cinq Club. She was very active with Women Supporting Women. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Jerry E. Yates; a son, Joel Yates of Delmar; two grandchildren; brothers, Jack Messick of Richmond and Scott Messick of Delmar; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service was held on Monday, December 7, 2015, at Short Funeral Home in Delmar. Interment was at St. Stephen's Cemetery in Delmar.
