SALISBURY - Ruth S. Chatham died Friday, Nov. 30, 2018, at Coastal Hospice At The Lake. Born in Rogersville, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late Timothy and Bessie Phipps Smith. She attended Rogersville High School in Tennessee, she was employed with Sears as a department manager for over 20 years until her retirement. She is survived by a son, Steven Everhart; eight grandchildren; four sisters, Wanda Gilliam, Louise Mullins, Shirley Hurd and Betty Reeves; a brother, Timothy Gale Smith; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Ruba Everhart Sr.; her second husband, William Chatham; a son, Ruba Lee Everhart Jr.; and a daughter, Donna Carol Weiss. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Dec. 15, 2018, at 11 a.m. at the Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury. A visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the service.
