Rosa Lee Purnell, 75
SALISBURY - Rosa Lee Purnell died Friday, Jan. 1, 2021, at her home. Born in Snow Hill, she was the daughter of the late Clifton Dale and Hester Bishop Dale.
She was a member of Mount Zion United Methodist Church in Quantico, where she served as president of the United Methodist Women. She was semiretired as a seamstress at Blind Industries in Salisbury.
She is survived by a son, Jeff Dale; two sisters, Julia Townsend and Lillian Purnell; two brothers, James Dale and Greg Dale; three stepsisters, Doretha Johnson, Marie Shamburger and Sandra Price; a stepbrother, Clement Johnson; a granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Clifton Dale Jr. and Richard Dale; a half-brother, Darryl Dale, a stepbrother, Alvin Johnson Jr.; and a lifelong partner, William "Boe" Morris Jr.
A funeral service was held Saturday, Jan. 9, 2021, at First Baptist Church Family Life & Cultural Center in Salisbury. Interment was at Mount Wesley United Methodist Church Cemetery in Snow Hill.
Arrangements are in the care of Lewis N. Watson Funeral Home in Salisbury.
