Rodney N. Riggin

CRISFIELD - Rodney N. Riggin died Monday, May 27, 2013 at his home. Born in Baltimore on Nov. 29, 1952, he was a son of Katherine LaBarre Riggin of Crisfield and the late John Thomas Riggin, Jr. He had been making his home in Crisfield since 1990. A graduate from North Carroll High School in Hampstead, he worked in construction. He attended the Crisfield Wesleyan Church and he enjoyed hunting and cooking. Along with his mother, Katherine L. Riggin, he is survived by his wife, Carol Lynn Wroten Riggin of Crisfield; three children, Rodney Riggin, Jr. and wife Jennifer of York, Pa., Christopher Riggin and wife Carrie of Westminster and Lisa Smith and husband Steven of Crisfield; a sister, Donna Wolfe and husband Derwin of Westminster; eight grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Along with his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, John Thomas Riggin, III; and a sister, Jacqueline Faye Mooney. A memorial service officiated by Rev. Bob Daniels was held Friday, May 31, 2013 at 2 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield where the family received friends one hour prior. In lieu flowers, the family requests donations in his memory to be sent to the Crisfield Fire Department, P.O. Box 591, Crisfield, MD 21817.
