DELMAR - Robert M. McDowell died Thursday, March 22, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Council Bluffs, Iowa, a son of the late Larry and Velma Harvey McDowell. He moved to Delaware in 1981.
He worked with his son as floor covering installer for B&S Carpet Services.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Sally A. Boyd McDowell; children, Shane M. McDowell, Earl D. McDowell, Angela K. Hankenson and Candy Dose; "adopted daughters" Brandi Timmons, Lettie Ann Harold and Rhonda McDowell Cipolla; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; siblings, William McDowell, Johnny "Poker" McDowell, Connie Coodey and Kay Smith; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Heidi M. McDowell; and a brother, Ron McDowell.
A memorial service was held Monday, March 26, 2018, at Short Funeral Home in Delmar.
