Newcomb, Jr., 68
CAMBRIDGE, Md. - Robert Leroy Newcomb, Jr. passed away peacefully on Monday, November 29, 2021 at his home.
Born on February 2, 1953 in Cambridge, Maryland, he was the son of the late Freida Dayton Newcomb and Robert Leroy Newcomb, Sr.
In March of 2000, Leroy married the former Grace Lord and they made their home in Dorchester County.
Leroy was a jack of all trades. He loved working on cars but more so, loved to race them. He was known to be the happiest when he was working. He found great joy in watching the auctioneer "Barret Jackson" and his family knew not to disturb him when watching this. Leroy enjoyed fishing, boating, partying and spending time with his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Leroy is survived by his wife, Grace; a daughter, Robin Miller (Robert) of Cambridge; step-children, Melissa Hughes (Ronnie) of Madison, Richie Kurtz (Heather) of North Carolina, Jerry Dill, Jr. (Mary) and Tedd Dill both of Delaware; grandchildren, James Hurley (Megan), Brandon Kurtz (fiancé Brianna), Carly Miller and Ronnie Hughes, Jr.; great grandchildren, Brandon Kurtz, Jr. and Delaney Hurley; and numerous other grandchildren and great grandchildren; siblings, Dottie Ann Rogers of Missouri, William Newcomb of Denton, Md., Mae Klinefelter of Richmond, Va., Marion Newcomb of Hurlock, Md. and Timothy Newcomb of Vienna, Md.; numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2021 beginning 1 p.m. at Newcomb and Collins Funeral Home, P.A., Cambridge.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Newcomb and Collins Funeral Home, 308 High St. Cambridge, MD 21613 to help defray funeral cost.
