CRISFIELD - Robert Lee Mayne was born to Captain John and Edith Mayne of Mt. Vernon, MD on January 3, 1930. While serving in the U.S. Navy, he met June Elaine Meyers. They were married October 5, 1950 and have remained together for 72 years. He is most known for managing the English Grill on S. Salisbury Blvd. and teaching food service for the Wicomico Co. board of education, and being an excellent husband, father, and uncle.
He is survived by his wife June, and their three children, Robert L. Mayne Jr and his wife Deanna, Sheila Mayne Edwards, and John M. Mayne and his wife Mary, three grandchildren, Stephanie Sharpe and her husband Adam, Justin Edwards and Lehya Bailey and her husband Todd, four great-grandchildren, River and Parker Edwards and Marley and Owen Bailey, two step grandchildren, Jonathan Brumley and Angela Keyser, and four step great-grandchildren, Hailie Brumley, Mason Keyser, Sky Sharpe, and Dradin Brumley. He was preceded in death by his brother Elmer Mayne, two sisters, Elma "Sweet Pea" Chatham and Audrey English and a grandson, Robert Quentin Mayne.
A graveside service was held on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at Asbury United Methodist Cemetery in Mt. Vernon. Pastor James Riley officiated.
