Robert Charnock

SALISBURY - Robert Lee Charnock, Jr., died Friday, Jan. 13, 2017, at the Salisbury Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Born in Painter, he was the son of the late Robert Lee Charnock, Sr. and Florence Elizabeth Smith Charnock. He was a member of the Royal Oak United Methodist Church, and served in the Virginia National Guard from 1948 to 1955, attaining the rank of sergeant. He had previously worked for the Virginia State Highway Department, Chesapeake Rim and Wheel, before retiring from Barr International. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by three sisters, Mildred Thornton, Ethel Quillen and Audrey Jack. He is survived by his wife, Sarah Charnock; three nephews; and a niece, Linda Q. Rogers, of Delmar. A memorial service was held Friday, Jan. 20, 2017, at the Salisbury Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Arrangements are in the care of Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury.
