DENTON - Riley L. Banks, 98, died Monday, Dec. 11, 2006, at the Ruxton Shore Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Denton.
Born June 12, 1908, to the late John and Maggie Wilson Banks in Trappe, Mr. Banks was an avid farmer and a longtime member of Scott's United Methodist Church in Trappe. He received his education in the Talbot County Public School System.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Emma Freeman Banks; two sons, James and Charles Banks; three sisters, Helena Banks Roberts, Ophelia Banks Wilson and Frances Banks Harrison and a brother, James Winters Banks.
He is survived by a son, William Banks and his wife Joan of Trappe; a daughter in-law, Audrey Banks of Camp Springs; a foster daughter, Sandra Wilson and her husband, Louis of Douglassville, Pa.; 10 grandchildren; two foster grandsons; 23 great grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; four nephews, three nieces, and several cousins.
Services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, at Scott's United Methodist Church in Trappe, with a viewing two hours prior. Burial in Paradise Cemetery in Trappe. Pastor Thaddeus D. Hackett will officiate.
Arrangements are being handled by Henry Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge.
