Richard Henry McGill, 91

CRISFIELD - Richard Henry McGill, of Crisfield, died Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2008, in the Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home in Crisfield. He was 91. Born in Highland Falls, N.Y., he was the son of the late Richard H. McGill and Jennie Brannigan McGill. He was a retired Chief Warrant Officer in the U.S. Army after 28 years. He also retired from the Baltimore Gas and Electric Company after 20 years. He attended the First Baptist Church in Crisfield. He was known to his family and friends as a very caring and generous gentleman. He is survived by three children, Sandra Anne Pinkoski and her husband, Jim of Sevierville, Tenn., Sharon Jean Dorman and her husband, Ladell of Crisfield and Richard H. McGill and his wife Cindy of Philipsburg, Mont.; three grandchildren, Roger Blackwell, Andre Dorman and Maria Dorman; three great-grandchildren, Richard Kine Young, Victoria Dorman and Landon Dorman; a sister, Ann Banks, of Maurertown, Va.; and a niece, Jane Carlson, of Middletown, Va. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, E. Virginia McGill, and a brother, Frank McGill. A memorial service was held 11 a.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church in Crisfield. Rev. Tad Maroon will officiate. A private burial will be held at a later date at the Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Va.
