'Revolutionary Maryland' traveling exhibit at Museum of Eastern Shore Culture

SALISBURY — The Museum of Eastern Shore Culture at 218 West Main Street in downtown Salisbury is a first Eastern Shore stop for the Maryland Humanities traveling exhibition “Revolutionary Maryland: Freedom of the Press Then and Now.”

It explores the evolution of one of our most important American freedoms from its earliest incarnation in the Maryland Colony to its role in contemporary society.

This exhibit is one element of a multi-pronged project designed to encourage all citizens to think critically about the roles of a free press to self-government in democracy.

The Museum of Eastern Shore Culture is open Tuesday-Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and admission is free but a $5 donation to continue its work is suggested. Call 410-677-0232 for more details.

Other partners involved with the exhibit include the Maryland Historical Trust, Historic Annapolis Inc., Afro Charities and the Tiny News Collective. Major funding for the project was provided by the Maryland Two Fifty Commission.
