Rena Mae (McCready) Wolford, 68
GEORGETOWN, Del. - Rena Mae (McCready) Wolford passed away at Beebe Medical Center on Wednesday, January 19, 2022. She was born on April 3, 1953, in Crisfield, Md., daughter of the late Rue Tawes and Catherine Ellen (Harron) McCready.
Rena was an avid lover of cats as was known to always give a home to any cat that came her way, even those that people would drop off. She was a compassionate soul who would often care for those around her that were in need, making a career of her caring nature as a Personal Care Giver.
Many of her favorite pastimes included playing cards, watching NASCAR, going to the beach, and visiting Smith Island, but most of all, she was the happiest when she was able to spend time with her beloved grandchildren, and family. She will be greatly missed by all the people whose lives she touched.
In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by eight siblings, Eva Sommers, Charlotte Holcomb, Rue McCready, Jr., Regina Sterling, Joseph McCready, Theresa Dean, Stephen McCready and Patrick McCready.
She is survived by her daughter, Robin Dean (Jerry) of McGaheysville, Va.; two sons, Robert Sterling (Sue) of Georgetown, Del., and Jerry Rue Sterling (Candi) of Salinas, Calif.; eight grandchildren, Rena Dean, Curtis Dean, Shana Dean, Carlee Dean, Brianna Morgan, Shelby Sterling, Megan Sterling and Ryan Sterling; and two great-grandchildren, Bella Dean and Callie Correa; and two very special house cats, Bonnie and Andy.
Funeral services were held at the Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Dodd-Carey Chapel, 307 N. Bedford St., Georgetown, Del. on Thursday January 27, 2022, at 11 a.m. where a viewing took place on Wednesday evening from 6 - 8 pm at the funeral home.
Interment immediately followed the funeral service at Union Cemetery in Georgetown, Del.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic social distancing protocols must be observed and masks must be worn by everyone participating in any aspect of the service.
