CRISFIELD - Raymond Anthony Tremper, 87, of Crisfield, died Wednesday, August 31, 2016, of natural causes at McCready Hospital. He was born in Perry Hall, Md. on January 17, 1929, to John Francis and Mary Barbara Zimmerer Tremper. He served in the US Army in the Korean War building airstrips. After the war he worked as a cement mixer driver for Clark Concrete which was bought by Flintcote and later Genstar. He was a member of the American Legion Posts 130 and 16, as well as a member of the VFW Post 6506 in Rossville, Md. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, gardening, and was an avid reader. He also followed NASCAR and the Baltimore Orioles. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Catherine Quick Tremper; a son, Anthony Tremper and his wife Karen, of Marion Station; a daughter, Brenda Buford and her husband Paul, of Middle River; three grandchildren, Michael Tremper and his wife Jocelyn, of Princess Anne, Brooke Buford, of Alexandria, La., and John Tremper, of Marion Station; three great-grandchildren, Joshua, Eli and Carson Tremper, of Princess Anne; a sister, Dorothy Woelfer, of Middle River; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Johnny Tremper; and a sister, Margaret Bristow. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Lower Somerset County Ambulance and Rescue Squad, LSCARS, P. O. Box 406; American Legion Post #16, P.O.
