PITTSVILLE - Rachel Virginia Truitt died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2021 at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional of Covid-19. Born in Greenbackville, she was a daughter of the late John Edward Pruitt and Blanche Smith Paradise Pruitt.
As a young woman, she worked as a cocktail waitress at Johnny & Sammy's in Salisbury. After retiring, she became an Antiques Dealer.
She is survived by her daughters, Christine Ashcraft and Kimberly Ashcraft, both of Salisbury; a grandson; a sister, Helen Lewers of Virginia; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Robert "Bobby" A. Truitt; and siblings, Clifton Pruitt, Ruth Watson, Sarah Northam, Jean Foskey and Joyce Kennard.
Services will be private. Services are in the care of Short Funeral Home in Delmar.
