FEDERALSBURG - Rachel A. Richardson, 89, passed away Friday, Oct. 26, 2007, at the Delmar Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Delmar, Del.

Born in Spartanburg, Pa., on April 6, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Adrian and Josephine Jaggi Bryant.

Mrs. Richardson's family moved from Pennsylvania to Federalsburg when she was 2 years old. She attended Federalsburg High School.

She married Andrew A. Richardson on Jan. 29, 1934. She was a homemaker and worked for Fox's Department Store in Federalsburg.

Mrs. Richardson was a member of the Federalsburg Volunteer Fire Co. Ladies' Auxiliary.

She is survived by two sons, Andrew "Drew" Richardson Jr. and his wife, Sherry of Federalsburg and Bryant Richardson and his wife, Carol of Seaford, Del.; a son-in-law, Jimmy Sullivan of Federalsburg; two nieces, Lois Hudson of Bethany Beach, Del., and June Truitt and her husband, Jim of Federalsbur; and one nephew, Adrian Mead and his wife, Alice of Millsboro, Del.; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Richardson, who passed away on Oct. 29, 1978, and by her daughter, Jo Ann Sullivan, who passed away in November 2006; two sisters, Ellen Mende and Betty Harper; a brother, Charles Bryant; a nephew, Buddy Meade; and a great-grandchild, Morah Sutton.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Williamson Funeral Home, 311 South Main St., Federalsburg, with the Rev. Otis Seese of the Glory Land Tabernacle officiating. Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery in Federalsburg.
