WESTOVER — Vaccines for rabies for your pets are held on Tuesdays starting March 22 at various firehouses throughout the county during the hours of 6 to 8 p.m. The cost is $6, and the vaccine is for one year unless you bring a current vaccination certificate and then it will be for three years.

The clinic dates and locations are: Deal Island, March 22; Mt. Vernon, March 29; Princess Anne, April 5; Marion, April 12; Crisfield, April 19; and Fairmount, April 26.

Michael McIntyre, Director of Environmental Health with the Somerset County Health Department, urges everyone to have their cats, dogs, ferrets, that are at least four months of age and older, vaccinated against the rabies virus. "Rabies continues to be a threat in Somerset County and a vaccination is your pet's only protection from the virus."
