PRINCESS ANNE — Princess Anne Police Chief Tim Bozman reports the following incidents and arrests.

  • On 2-17-17, the Princess Anne Police Department arrested Dominique James Miles, 19, of Temple Hills, Maryland for driving while under the influence of alcohol.   The arrest stemmed from a motor vehicle crash investigation on UMES Boulevard near the Arden’s Run apartment complex entrance.  Officers were in the area controlling a large volume of traffic from a UMES homecoming event, when Miles crashed into five vehicles, including a Somerset County Sheriff’s Office marked patrol vehicle that had its emergency equipment activated.  Two officers also had to run for safety to avoid being struck during the collision.  The crash resulted in significant damage to some of the vehicles that were involved and there were several minor injuries reported.  Miles was charged with failure to control speed on highway to avoid collision, driving vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, driving vehicle while under the influence of alcohol per se, driving vehicle while impaired by alcohol, negligent driving, reckless driving, failure to drive vehicle on right half of roadway when required, failure to display license to an uniformed police officer, and driving vehicle in violation of restricted license requirement.  Miles was later released from custody upon being issued his citations.

 

  • On 2-17-17, the Princess Anne Police Department served Markia Eileen Farmer, 23, of Princess Anne, Maryland with an outstanding District Court bench warrant out of Wicomico County for failure to appear in court.  Farmer was seen by a District Court Commissioner who issued a $3,000.00 unsecure bond.  Farmer was subsequently released from custody.

 

  • On 2-14-17, the Princess Anne Police Department served Bryan Anthony Matthews, 21, of Upper Marlboro, Maryland with an outstanding District Court arrest warrant.  The arrest warrant charged Matthews with violation of an ex-parte/protective order on 2-8-17.  Matthews was seen by a District Court Commissioner who released Matthews on personal recognizance.
