Princess Anne Police report

PRINCESS ANNE — The Princess Anne Police Department announced the following incidents and arrests.

 

  • On 5-16-15, the Princess Anne Police Department arrested Derrick Wayne Lehrer Merrill, 36, of Princess Anne Maryland for possession of a controlled dangerous substance. The arrest stemmed from an investigation of a motor vehicle crash that occurred at Mt. Vernon Road and Route 13. Merrill was charged with failure to control vehicle speed on highway to avoid collision, driving / attempting to drive vehicle while so far impaired by (drug(s) & alcohol) cannot drive safely, 4 counts of controlled dangerous substance possession not marijuana, possession of controlled dangerous substance paraphernalia, and possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute. Merrill was seen by a District Court Commissioner who issued a $100,000.00 bond. Merrill was released into the custody of the Somerset County Detention Center.

 

  • On 5-16-15, the Princess Anne Police Department charged Janice Lynn Benny, 55, of Loxahatchoe Florida for theft under $100.00. The charges stemmed from a theft complaint at Peaky’s Restaurant located at 30361 Mt. Vernon Road. Benny was released from custody after being issued a criminal citation.

 

  • On 5-13-15, the Princess Anne Police Department arrested Stan Marsell Schoolfield, 26, of Princess Anne Maryland for burglary 4th The arrest stemmed from a burglary complaint at 30549 Linden Avenue where Schoolfield was found to be inside the building. Schoolfield was charged with two counts of burglary 4th degree and seen by a District Court Commissioner who issued a $10,000.00 unsecure bond.
