DARBY, Pa. - Pearl T. Dashiell passed away on Friday, June 20, 2008 at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital in Darby, Pa.

Born Jan. 14, 1918 in Fork Neck (Dorchester County), daughter of the late Ollie Wilson Thompson Molock and Louis H. Thompson and the third sibling of nine.

She attended the public schools of Dorchester County and graduated in the Annual Graduating Exercises on May 29, 1931 under Superintendent James B. Noble and Bernice Jones as supervisor.

After graduation, she immediately moved to Philadelphia and furthered her education. She understood the county motto "We Finish to Begin," and with her continued education she became certified in Merchandising. She was gainfully employed as an Executive in merchandising at Bonwit Teller Department Store in Center City and received several certificates for her outstanding achievements in leadership and good work ethic. She retired with high honors.

During her semi-retirement years (2000-2002), she desired to assist senior citizens and therefore served on the Mayor's Commission on Services to the Aging.

Pearl met and married her husband, Floyd Dashiell, who preceded her in death.

At an early age, she attended Waters United Methodist Church in Fork Neck and became a Christian. She continued her Christian life through services at Camphor Memorial and she loved to read the "Daily Word,"

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Fulton Thompson and Frederick Thompson; three sisters, Louise Pinder, Hildred Carlton and Kathyrn Justice.

Survivors included two sisters, Berthia Welmon (Harry), Philadelphia, Pa. and Lorraine T. Henry of Cambridge; a brother, Wadell Thompson of Philadelphia, Pa. and a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews; a special family aunt, Hazel Molock, numerous cousins, other relatives and many friends.

A funeral service will be held at noon on Thursdayat Henry Funeral Home, PA 510 Washington St., Cambridge with a viewing one hour prior to the services. Burial will follow in Fork Neck Cemetery, Fork Neck.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at Dupree Funeral Home, 2809-11 W. Diamond St., Philadelphia, Pa.
