CAMBRIDGE - P. Margie Frazier Moore, 83, passed away peacefully at the Mallard Bay Nursing Home on Jan. 17, 2012. She was born Dec. 9, 1928 in Cambridge. She was preceded in death by her mother, Pearl L. Frazier Goslin; her devoted stepfather, Carlton Goslin; her biological father, Gerald V. Frazier and a sister, Geraldine Frazier Short. A graduate of Cambridge High School, Class of 1947, she married S/Sgt. George D. Moore Jr. in Washington, D.C. on Jan. 20, 1951. Mrs. Moore traveled extensively, accompanying her husband to various duty stations within the United States, Europe and Asia including the Western and Eastern zones of Germany, France, Luxembourg, England, the Philippine Islands and Thailand. Mrs. Moore was an active volunteer wherever she was stationed: a Sunday School superintendent at Lackland AFB, Texas; team mother for a number of cheerleading squads representing Youth Football on Clark AB, P. I. She was associated with the Girl Scouts of America, both at home and on various military installations. While at Griffis AFB, N.Y. what began as a low-hour volunteer at the Base Dental Facility resulted in training as a chairside assistant. Additional training led to a prosthetic laboratory apprentice position. Throughout her lifetime she was an active bowler. Later in life she took up tennis and golf and became an eager participant and fan of both. Attempting to learn the game of bridge was her last endeavor. Mrs. Moore was a lifetime member of the American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Disabled American Veterans auxiliaries as well as a member of the Dorchester General Hospital Auxiliary. She supported the Blackwater Wildlife Refuge, the Dorchester County Humane Society, the Dorchester County Historical Society, the Dorchester Center for the Arts and the USGA. She is survived by her husband, and two daughters, Marjorie Lanette (Gib) Groman and her husband Bob of Stafford, Va., and Robin Michelle (Micki) Andrews of Hurlock. In addition she is survived by two grandsons, Michael Allen Andrews, and Jonathan Ryan Lively; and one great-granddaughter, Caitlyn Michelle Andrews. She is also survived by a beloved niece, Bobbi Ann Cole and her husband Greg, their daughter Samantha and son Taylor. Margie donated her body to the Maryland State Anatomy Board. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Memorial contributions in her name can be made to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation at 383 Main Ave., 5th Floor, Norwalk, CT. 06851 or the animal welfare society of your choice.
