CAMBRIDGE - Oscar Benson, 75, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 10, 2007, at Dorchester General Hospital in Cambridge.

Son of the late Sallie and Emmanuel Benson, he was born on May 28, 1931, in Milford, Del.

Mr. Benson received his education at the Old John Wesley School in Milford Neck, Del.

He loved to ride. It wasn't unusual to see him riding his scooter through the streets of Cambridge, wearing his cowboy hat with an American flag flying in the rear of the scooter. He also loved mail orders and would receive more mail than the President! There wasn't a day that went by that his brother Eugene wasn't picking up mail packages from the local post office. Anything that you would need or not need, Oscar had it.

Formerly of Harrington, Del., he worked for Bennett Security and Coastal Foods of Cambridge.

In addition to his parents, Oscar was preceded in death by six brothers: Ed, Francis, Randolph, Harry, Charles and James Benson and one sister; Dorothy.

He is survived by five brothers; Roland of Lincoln, Del., Alex, Carl (Frances), Leroy, all of Harrington, Del., brother and caretaker, Delbert "Eugene" (Delores) of Cambridge; three sisters; Beulah Collick of Harrington, Louise (John) Gray of Chandler, Ariz. and Catherine Stevens of Harrington; sisters-in-law, Anna Mae Benson, Esther Benson of Cambridge; a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, at the Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Dover, Del., where friends may call two hours prior to the service.

Burial will be in the Barratt's Chapel Cemetery, Frederica, Del.
