MARDELA SPRINGS - Norma Lee Freeman, died Sunday, April 15, 2007 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury.

Born in Mardela Springs, Aug. 21, 1925, she was the daughter of the late A.H. "Bunk" Evans and the late Alice Graham Evans.

Having been employed by the Wicomico County board of education for many years, Mrs. Freeman was an active member of the Wicomico County Retired Teachers Association. She was a member of the Mardela Springs Ladies Auxiliary for 59 years and a past president. Mrs. Freeman was a member of the Wicomico County Ladies Auxiliary where she also served as president. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Mardela Springs.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, George Freeman; a son, Robert Freeman and his wife, Lynda of Salisbury; a daughter, Debra Freeman and her partner, Tracie Bath of Silver Spring; a granddaughter, Allyson Minor and her husband, Ryan; a great-granddaughter, Reagan Ashley Minor; sisters-in-law, Jane Croswell of Phoenix, Md. and Lois Obermire and her husband, Wayne of Seaford, Del.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Ashley Carter Phillips.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, at Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury. Friends may call tonight from 7 to 9 and an hour prior to the service on Thursday. Burial will be in Mardela Memorial Cemetery in Mardela Springs.
