WESTOVER — The Somerset County Health Department is offering free Stop Smoking Classes to county residents. Currently group sessions are running each Tuesday at The Somerset Wellness Center, 11545 Somerset Ave. Princess Anne, from 11:30am-12:30pm. Starting the week of April 25, additional locations are being added.
On Wednesday, starting April 27, 2016 an evening session will begin at McCready Health, Conference Room, 201 Hall Hwy, Crisfield from 5:30pm-6:30pm. On Thursday, starting April 28 a day session will begin at the Somerset County Health Department, 8928 Sign Post Rd, Westover from11:00am-12:00pm.
Sessions are on-going with continued program interest. The no judgment, no pressure support group format will include educational topics such as stress, addiction, health consequences, secondhand smoke, preventing relapse and more. Classes are free and Nicotine Replacement Therapy will be provided at no cost to eligible clients.
Call 443-523-1788 for more information or to register. Registration is not required but is encouraged. Walk-Ins welcome. Funding for this program is made possible from the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene and through the Cigarette Restitution Fund.
