Carmine, 89
CRISFIELD - Naomi Elizabeth Carmine died Saturday, March 6, 2021 at her home.
Born in Crisfield on May 30, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Preston and Matilda McCready Thomas. Her husband of 53 years, Jesse William Carmine, Sr., preceded her in death on January 7, 2008.
A graduate of Crisfield High School class of 1948, she was a homemaker and worked at her family's former businesses: Carmine Snow Ball Stand and J&J Video. She attended the Crisfield Church of God.
Naomi was a collector of many things including dolls, Snow Babies, coins, stamps, baseball cards and Coca-Cola memorabilia to name a few. She loved birds and bird watching but especially hummingbirds and cardinals. Most of all, she loved her family and was a wonderful and devoted mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her children, Donna Tyler and husband Timmy and Jesse W. Carmine, Jr. and wife Shirl, all of Crisfield; her granddaughter, Jessica Carmine of Crisfield; her great-grandson, Silas Paul, who was the light of her life; her sisters and brother, Becky Evans of Crisfield, Johnny Thomas and wife Dixie of Salisbury, Tillie Green of Cleveland, Tennessee, and Presteen Thomas of Laurel, Delaware; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents and her husband she was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey W. Carmine in 2015; great-grandson, Ian Joseph in 2015; and 12 brothers and sisters.
A viewing was Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home from 1-2 p.m. and a graveside funeral service officiated by the Rev. John Thorne followed in Sunnyridge Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Church of God, 134 Maryland Avenue, Crisfield, MD 21817; or Coastal Hospice, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802-1733.
The family would like to give a special thank you to her Coastal Hospice team that provided such wonderful care to their Mom.
