Nadine M. Smith

CAMBRIDGE - Nadine M. Smith, 79, passed away quietly at her home with her family by her side on Thursday, Jan. 31, 2008.

She was born in Cambridge on Oct. 29, 1928 and was a daughter of the late Lynn B. and Lydia Phillips Marshall.

She attended schools in Cambridge and graduated from Cambridge High School in 1946. On April 16, 1947 she was married to Kenneth E. Smith.

From 1972 until 1983 she had worked at Airpax in Cambridge.

Mrs. Smith was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker, wife and mother. Mrs. Smith had been in failing health for the past year.

Survivors include her husband of almost 60 years, Kenneth E. Smith of Cambridge; a son, Kenneth L. Smith and his companion, Teresa Thompson of Cambridge; a sister, Iona Whitley of Delmar; a nephew, Alan Whitely and his wife, Peggy Whitley of Delmar; a brother-in-law, M. Hollie Smith and his wife, Elaine Smith of East New Market and a sister-in-law, Ruth Smith of Hurlock.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, at Dorchester Memorial Park with the Rev. Mary Ann Farnell officiating.
