Myrle Prescott Schanken

PRESTON - Myrle Prescott Schanken, 79, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2006, at The Pines Nursing Home in Easton.

She was born on Sept. 11, 1927, in St. Augustine, Fla., the daughter of the late Walter Wise and Emma Wise Prescott. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Rene Charles DeLisle on Dec. 2, 1962.

Mrs. Schanken was a farmer and homemaker, and was a long-time member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Preston. She loved the outdoors.

She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Edwin Emil Schanken Sr.; six children, Michael DeLisle of Reliance, Jeffrey DeLisle of Baltimore, Stephen DeLisle of Elkton, Renee DeLisle-Howes of Huntingtown, Edwin Schanken Jr. and Christopher Schanken, both of Hurlock; 11 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Walter Prescott.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Monday, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Preston with Pastor Edwin Thress officiating. Private burial will follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Immanuel Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 39, Preston, MD 21655, or to a local charity of your choice.
