SALISBURY - Monica M. Mears died Friday, Oct. 12, 2018, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. Born in Seaford, she was a daughter of the late Robert Cannon and Catherine Marie Cabri Krueger. In her younger years, she was a member of the Salvation Army Church in Salisbury. Gymnastics were her passion. She is survived by a daughter, Erica Mears of Salisbury; a sister and caregiver, Eleanore E. Duncan of Pittsville; a brother, John J. Cannon of Jacksonville, Fla.; stepbrothers, Norman H. Conway, Henry L. Conway, Jerry L. Conway and Larry A. Conway; several grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and her best friend, Connie Ward. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Mears; and her stepmother, Cathryn M. Cannon. A funeral service was held Friday, Oct. 19, 2018, at Short Funeral Home in Delmar. Entombment followed at Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron.
