SALISBURY -- Missouria Lee Byrd died Wednesday, May 25, 2016, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. Born in Modest Town, Va., she was the daughter of the late Earnest and Dorothy Fosque Bailey. She was a graduate of the former Mary N. Smith High School in Accomac and later attended Wor-Wic Community College. She was employed for over 40 years with Campbell Soup Co. in Salisbury. Upon her retirement she worked as a Security Guard for the Hudson Center in Salisbury. She was a lifelong member of St. James A.M.E. Zion Church in Salisbury and was a Foster Parent to more than 20 children. Her survivors include a daughter, Santea Taylor; a foster son, Sidney Jackson; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister, Lois Bunting; and several nieces and nephews. Two brothers, Robert and Irving Bailey, preceded her in death. A funeral service was held Saturday, June 4, 2016, at First Baptist Church in Mappsville; interment was in the church cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of Jolley Memorial Chapel in Salisbury.
