Mildred Elizabeth Chester, 84 CAMBRIDGE - Mildred Elizabeth Chester, 84, departed this life on Sunday, July 13, 2008 at Dorchester General Hospital, Cambridge. Mildred was born Aug. 5, 1923 in Dorchester County, daughter of the late Mildred Jews and William Irvin Chester. She attended the public schools of Dorchester County. While she was the mother of 10, she found time to do domestic work throughout Dorchester. She loved to cook and bake. Mildred enjoyed helping others, even through her sickness she was still trying to help those in need. To know her was to love her. She attended Waugh United Methodist Church. She was honored to receive the Super Hero Certificate, MD Governor's Citation/Certificate of Honor from the City of Cambridge for outstanding community service in 1994. Mildred was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister and friend. She was dedicated and loved children. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Deborah Wheatley; granddaughter, Acquilla Wheatley and grandson, Derrick Wilson. Her fond memories will always be cherished by five sons, Louis Chester of Baltimore, Alton Chester of Glen Burnie, Tyrone Chester of Trappe, Patrick Chester of Cambridge and Carroll Chester of Baltimore; four daughters, Eloise Woolford of Bridgeport, Conn., Helen Mosley of Elizabeth, N.J., Joyce Chester of Cambridge and Lisa Williams of Columbia; 22 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Linwood Chester (Magdalene) of Baltimore and Granville Chester of Seattle, Wash. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many special friends. Funeral services w ill be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Waugh Chapel United Methodist Church, 425 High St., Cambridge, MD with a viewing two hours prior to the service. Burial will follow in Chester Cemetery at Rhodesdale. The Henry Funeral Home, PA is handling the arrangements.
